つづりから「レセント」と読みがちですが、実際は「リースント」のような発音になります。
recentの使い方
1. 最近の

(ここ数週間は息抜きに取り組んでいます) - The most recent update to the app includes several bug fixes.

recent は「最近の」や「ついこの（数日／数週間…）」の意味で使われる形容詞です。
通例、限定用法（= 名詞の前）にて使われます。例文（下）のように、most などの副詞を伴うことがあります。
「最近の若者」を英語にする際、日本語の語感から recent young people と言ってしまわないよう、注意しましょう。英語では young people these days（今どきの若者たち）のような言い方をします。

more recent, most recent のように比較変化します。ただし、時に recenter, recentest の形で使われることもあります。
