concerning の使い方
…に関して, …について
- I have some questions concerning the new company policy.
(新しい会社の方針についていくつか質問があります) - Concerning the new project, we need to have a meeting to discuss the timeline.
(新プロジェクトについては, スケジュールを打ち合わせする必要があります)
concerning は「…に関して／…について」の意味で前置詞として使われます。例文（上）は文中、例文（下）は文頭に使われている場合です。
concerning と about の違い
違い1: 日常英語では about のほうがふつう
- I’ve already written to him about the problem.
(この問題については, 彼にすでに手紙を書いています)

concerning と about は「…について」という意味で、日本語訳では違いがなくなります。ただ、concerning は堅い響きがあるため、日常的な英語としては、about のほうが自然です。
違い2: concerning は自動詞の直後に用いない
- I often think about the future.
(未来のことをよく考えています)
think about（考える）のような自動詞との組み合わせとして concerning を使うことはできません。
違い3: concerning は疑問文の文末には用いない
- What is the new movie about?
(新作映画はどんな内容なのでしょうか)
concerning を疑問文の文末に用いることはできません。
違い4: concerning は関係代名詞を目的語としてとらない
- The article provided interesting insights about the latest trends in technology, about which I was curious.
(私が気になっていたテクノロジーの最新動向について興味深い考察が提供されました)
concerning は関係代名詞を目的語として取ることはできません。about which のように言いましょう。
前置詞 concerning は、whether節を目的語として取ることはできますが、if節は認められません。
例: We are still awaiting a decision from the board concerning whether we will be able to proceed with the expansion plans.（拡張計画を進めることができるかどうかについては, まだ取締役会の決定を待っているところです）
