pendingの使い方（形容詞用法）
1. (問題などが) 未解決の, 懸案の
- There are still a few pending questions.
(まだいくつかの懸案事項があります) - The decision on the new project proposal is still pending.
(新企画提案の決定については現在も未定です)
pending には「(問題などが) 未解決の／懸案の」の意味があります。例文（上）は名詞の前（= 限定用法）、例文（下）は補語（= 叙述用法）の場合です。
Patent pending. は「特許出願中」の意味で使われます。

2. 差し迫っている

pending は「差し迫っている」の意味で使われることもあります。例文（上）は名詞の前（= 限定用法）、例文（下）は補語（= 叙述用法）の場合です。

3. 突き出ている

pending は「突き出ている」の意味で使われることもあります。まれな用法です。
分詞形容詞 pending に比較変化はありません。

…が起こるまで, …を待つ間
- The company will not take any action pending the outcome of the investigation.
(その調査の結果が出るまで, 会社は一切の措置をとりません) - Pending further instructions from the boss, we will continue to work on the project.
